A former senate president, Olusola Saraki, says he will declare his intention to join the 2023 presidential race, before the end of this month.
Speaking on a television programme, Saraki said he was awaiting the PDP to blow the whistle on the battle for its presidential ticket.
He hopes that the decision on the ticket would be taken at the meeting of the PDP national caucus and national executive council taking off today in Abuja.
In the meantime, Saraki said he had been touring the country to consult with major political stakeholders on his presidential ambition.
According to Saraki, he has what it takes to rule Nigeria, because he could reach across the political and tribal divides in the country.
If elected as president, Saraki promised that he would not shy away from taking up challenges that would move the country forward.
