2023: INEC Registers 10.2 Million New Voters

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has registered more 10.2 million new voters in its continuous voter registration exercise.

6.5 million of the 10.2 million new voters have completed their registration according to the INEC’s report of week seven of the 4th quarter of the exercise.

Out of those who completed registration, 3.253 million are male, 3.290 are female, while 4.55 million are youths.

The electoral body says it has so far, received a total of 18 million, 912 thousand, 5 hundred and 11 applications during the exercise.

The applications are for various services including voters transfer, request for the replacement of permanent voter’s cards and update of voter information records.
