Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun state has asked the APC National Working Committee to disregard allegations sent to it, seeking to disqualify him from seeking a second term in the 2022 governorship poll.
The petition received by the APC National Working Committee, alleged that the governor had other names such as Shawn Michael Davis, and was convicted for an offence in 1986 in the.
The petition also alleged discrepancies in the governor’s data in his nomination forms for the 2015 and 2019 polls.
The governor’s legal team led by Afe Babalola chambers in a letter dated April 19, 2022 to the APC national chairman, said the allegation was a deliberate move to disqualify him of a second term in office.

The legal team told APC that the petition was full of falsehood, malice, spurious claims, aimed at misleading the APC leadership on the governor
According to the legal team, the alleged discrepancies in the data of the governor in his nomination forms had been dismissed by the tribunal, the appeal and the supreme courts
Also, the legal team told APC that the petitioners had failed to attach the judgement of a us court which allegedly convicted the governor
Another defense against the petition is that the governor has no other names than Prince Adedapo Oluseun Abiodun.
