Insecurity: Buhari Indicts Military for Not Doing Enough

President Buhari has indicted the military and other security agencies for not doing enough to end the spread of insecurity in the country.

Buhari worried over the development, said all logistics required to end the insecurity, had been provided by his administration but bit seems like the military is not doing enough.

The national security adviser retired, Babagana Monguno, made this known while briefing the state house correspondents, at the end the meeting of the National Security Council presided over by president Buhari in Abuja on Thursday.

Monguno said Buhari expressed sadness over continued killing of people on daily basis, adding that Buhari as the commander-in-chief of Nigerian armed forces had issued directive to the security chiefs, and could not be blamed for the continued insecurity.

According to him, Nigeria has recorded a lot of success in securing its maritime borders, but noted that there are still security issues on Nigeria’s land borders.

He also noted that the massive surrender of terrorists in the north east region is not yielding desired results in the anti-insurgency war, as the security threat has shifted to the North West and north central region, which must be contained from spreading to other parts of the country.
