Ex Governor Frustrated Investors I Brought to Ogun, Patrick Utomi Alleges

A professor of political economy, Patrick Utomi has alleged that a former Ogun state governor frustrated investors he brought to the state.

Patrick Utomi recalled that he brought some investors from South Africa ready to invest millions of dollars in projects in the state.

He did not mention the name of the governor or when he served.

The political economist speaking on a Rockcity FM programme, “daybreak show” said he took the investors to meet the governor, and they requested for land for the projects.

He said the request was not attended to by the governor for eight years he spent in office.

According to Utomi, the South African investors eventually returned to their country with their funds.

He also said another investor he brought to the state during that period was frustrated by the governor who refused to approve land allocation for his projects.

The political economist said the second investor committed suicide after waiting in vain for his request for land for his proposed project to be granted by the former governor.

Utomi expressed concern that the land requested for by the investors are still lying fallow.
