Vice president Yemi Osinbajo has finally ended his prolonged consultations on the 2023 presidential poll.
Yemi Osinbajo, on his twitter handle this morning, announced his interest in the 2023 presidential poll.
The vice president in the tweet, said he would formally announced later today, with utmost humility, his interest to contest in the poll on the platform of the APC.
His twitter post is a follow up to a meeting he held with some of the APC governors at a dinner he hosted on Sunday night at the presidential villa, Abuja.
About 12 of the APC’s 23 state governors honoured the invitation of Osinbajo to attend the meeting held behind the close doors, during which he told them of his decision to join the race.
Some of the governors, include those of Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Imo, Kaduna, Nasarawa and Borno states.
Already, his support group had opened his 2023 presidential poll campaign office in Wuse, Abuja, ahead of his formal declaration.
If the vice president formally declares interest in 2023 poll, he will be fifth aspirant on the APC platform seeking to fly the flag of the party in the poll.
Others aspirants already in the race are Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former governor Rochas Okorocha, governors Yahaya Bello and Dave Umahi, as well as transportation minister, Rotimi Amaechi.
