INEC Asks Parties to Stick To 2023 Timetable

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has asked political parties to keep to the schedule of activities for the 2023 timetable.

It warns that any of them which violates the electoral guidelines will be barred from participating in the polls.

The electoral agency, says it will stick to the 2023 timetable and guidelines for the polls, as well as monitor primaries of the political parties.

INEC national commissioner, Festus Okoye, warns political parties against acrimonious primaries that could degenerate into litigations which may prevent them from fielding candidates for some of the polls.

Okoye says so far, only two out of 14 activities in the 2023 polls timetable have been successfully completed by political parties.

According to Okoye, the next activities in the timetable is the conduct of primaries between April 4 and June 3.
