Soludo Asks Pro-Biafra Agitators to Hand over Arms for Amnesty

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra state has asked pro-Biafra agitators in the state, to drop their guns and receive amnesty from his administration.

Soludo says under the proposed amnesty, repentant agitators would be trained in any skill of their choice.

The governor, speaking on a television programme, said that a lot of the pro-Biafra agitators are in camps located in bushes, from where they are launching attacks on their targets.

According to soludo, the amnesty will enable his administration to isolate those who had repented and focus on those who are criminals.

Already, the governor said the main pro-Biafra group, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) now has a faction headed by one Simeon Ikpe.

Soludo said it was being alleged by the IPOB that the faction led by Ikpe, who is based in Finland, was responsible for the attacks on police formations and other attacks in the states.
