President Buhari has directed the police and other security agencies to end the sexual assaults, kidnap and killings by rival clashes by cultist groups in Ogun state.
The president, in a statement by his media aide, Garba Sheu expressed concern over the renewed cult violence, with Ogun state emerging as the battle front.
Buhari ordered the security agencies in the state to take the battle to the cult groups before they gain more strength and capability.
He is worried that the deadly cult groups are gradually attracting lonely, anxious and troubled youths into their ranks.
The president asks religious groups and parents to come to grip with what is going on, and stop the radicalization of youths.
About 16 persons have so far died in clashes between Aiye and Eiye confraternity cult groups, in the past one week in Abeokuta, Sagamu, and Ilaro.
Already, Governor Dapo Abiodun had directed heads of military and security agencies in the state to relocate to Sagamu to stop fighting among the rival cultists in the town.
