More security personnel are to be deployed to Imo state to cope with the renewed attacks by gunmen in the state and the south east region.
Also to be moved to the state are more ammunition and arms.
President Buhari approved the fresh deployment after a meeting with governor Hope Uzodinma at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The governor told the state house correspondents that Buhari invited him to the villa over the renewed attacks by gunmen in Imo and the region.
He dismissed allegation by the indigenous people of Biafra that his administration is sponsoring the attacks.
