200 Bandits Killed In Encounter With Security Forces In Niger

Police in Niger state say that about 200 armed bandits were killed on Wednesday by the state joint security task force.

The state police commissioner, Bala Kuyas, said the 200 bandits were killed while engaging the task force members at Bangi village in Mariga local government area.

The security task force, according to him, also recovered 61 cows from the bandits during the operation.

Chairman of the state joint task force, Emmanuel Umaru, said one of the task force members died in the operation.
