Federal government says it is considering three options on the rejection of an electoral bill sent by president Buhari to the senate for the re-amendment of the electoral act 2022.
One of the options is going to court to challenge the senate’s refusal of the bill.
Justice minister, Abubakar Malami made this known while speaking to the state house correspondents at the end of the weekly meeting of the Federal Executive Council at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Malami listed two other options as the re-presentation of the amendment of electoral act bill to the senate and the acceptance of the electoral act as it is.
The minister told correspondents that the presidency is yet to arrive at a conclusive position on the rejected amendment bill.
Buhari, days after assenting to the electoral amendment bill 2022, had requested the senate to delete a section from the bill but the senate rejected buhari’s request.
