According to the report, 15 Saudi soldiers were also killed alongside the troops killed by rebels and around 500 Sudanese and Saudi soldiers were captured, along with large amounts of hardware and ammunition.

Sudanese soldiers have been involved in the war in Yemen since 2015 when they joined the Saudi-led forces backing Yemen’s government.

Sudan’s leader at the time, Omar Al-Bashir, agreed to supply army soldiers to fight against the Iranian-backed rebels as well as troops from the paramilitary rapid support forces
