Tragedy struck in Bauchi state as 20 persons have been burnt beyond recognition in a fatal auto crash, along the Bauchi-Kano road.

The victims, included eleven male and five female adults as well as one male child and three female children.

The crash involved a Volkswagen golf bus with the license plate SHD 184 YU, conveying passengers and a Sharon Ford bus loaded with passengers and goods.

Both vehicles collided on Tuesday afternoon at the Huturu village segment of the highway.

The state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the casualty figure, blamed the fatal auto crash on over speeding.

The FRSC commander who blames the accident on over speeding, said only a driver survived the crash, and had been taken to Kafin Madala hospital, while those who died had been buried at Huturu village.
